What advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your own journey?
If I had a chance to go back to the beginning of the journey, I would probably say: “Stick to the chosen path, move on, you are doing everything right”.
One of the values of the Special Operations Center “A” is leadership. Its definition refers to the ability to inspire colleagues to complete the assigned tasks.
Were there moments in your service when this became your main task? Tell us about one of them.
Leadership is a feature of an employee, and it is our value. Our employees are people who really show themselves as leaders, and I am glad to be in the circle of these people.
A manifestation of my personal leadership is a full-scale war, a leadership position that, I won’t say that forced me, but gave me the opportunity to manifest myself as a leader, to lead people, to pass on experience to them, and today these employees are doing their job with high quality and protecting our state.
What one thought or life principle would you like to leave to people who will watch this interview in many years?
Perhaps one of the principles is that nothing is impossible. If you set a goal for yourself and go towards it, don’t stop, you will definitely achieve it.

Everyone understands the word “freedom” in their own way. What does it mean to you personally?
Freedom, for me, first of all, is when no stranger, no enemy can impose their will, their values, or their culture on me.
Freedom for me is when I choose what to do, what to do, and what to believe in.

For what do people in your unit respect each other the most?
I will say: “for reliability.” War pushes everything superfluous to the background: your position, ambitions, nice words.
A simple question arises: “can I rely on you?” And you want to see a comrade by your side, where in difficult moments you will know that he will help you.
Is it difficult to realize that you may never be able to tell about a significant part of your work?
No, it is not difficult. We do everything not for the sake of beautiful stories, but for the sake of the result. Taking part in interesting operations that cannot be told is the greatest reward.
Because you can have a house in Kozyn, an AMG car, but these emotions that you get in these operations are the highest reward.

What, in your opinion, is more dangerous for a professional: lack of experience or self-confidence?
It is definitely self-confidence or lack of experience. Everything is corrected by training, communication with colleagues, help.
Self-confidence, unfortunately, leads to tragic results.
One of the values of the SOC “A” is patriotism. What does this word mean to you personally?
Personally, for me, patriotism probably resonates with the Center’s slogan: “Life — to the Motherland, honor — to no one.”
Many people changed their lives, did not necessarily give it physically, forgot their civilian life, came, stood up for defense. This is real patriotism, in my opinion.
What is your main wish for Ukraine in ten years? What would you like to see Ukraine in 2036?
I would like the country to be united, independent, indivisible, within the borders of 1991, as recorded in our Constitution.
And I really want to wish that everyone remembers our history, everyone remembers what happened, that it was all not in vain, all our losses — that they really led to our country, which will be. I am sure that it will be.
